Digdir: Knowledge assistant

The public sector holds enormous amounts of valuable knowledge, but much of it is not used – either because people do not know it exists, or because the documents are difficult to find. Nearly 40,000 documents are currently collected in the KUDOS database, but when the documents are often 100 pages or more, it is challenging to extract the insight you need.

In response to this, the Norwegian Directorate of Digitalisation has developed the pilot project Knowledge Assistant. A tool that uses generative artificial intelligence to extract the information you need from the sources you trust, with minimal risk of hallucination.

It's easy to think that the value lies in increasing the quality of work and reducing the existing risk of duplication of effort. At the same time, it's just as exciting to see how we optimize the learning process.
